TOLERANCE.

Does anyone know what that words means?

More importantly, does anyone care?

The appreciation of diversity and the ability to live and let others live. It is the ability to exercise a fair and objective attitude towards those whose opinions, practices, religion, nationality and so on differ from one's own. "Tolerance is not just agreeing with one another or remaining indifferent in the face of injustice, but rather showing respect for the essential humanity in every person." - William Ury.

That seems so basic to me; so natural to me, that sometimes, even though it really shouldn't, it still shocks me when I find a complete and utter lack of it in people - especially from people that demand that their views and rights be respected. Newsflash: You're not traveling on a one-way street.

"No mom, I'm not pregnant."

Wave: My mom's asked me three times if I'm pregnant! No, mom...! Gah! ...

Me: Sounds like my mom! "But when I asked your sister Amber when she was 16 if she'd kissed a guy, she said no, and then I found out she was already having sex!" Yeah well, I'm not Amber...

Wave: Glad I'm not the only one. But it's annoying.... noooo. I'm a teenager, so I MUST be having sex...

Me: It's one of those things where you don't know whether to be more flattered or insulted. Thanks for suggesting that the idea of me not getting laid is the most preposterous, ridiculous, absolutely *impossible* thing you've ever heard - but feel free to stop anytime now.

Wave: Haha I know! Exactly!

xD I've been laughing about this conversation all day, haha. I love you, Waverleigh!
